Deborah Herder- Owner

As a hair stylist and a salon owner, I express my creativity and business savvy through Admirations Hair It Iz Salon. My salon is an extension of me – an illustration of beauty through hair and personal style. I am a licensed cosmetologist, having received my certification in 1985.

I previously worked for PHD Hair Studio and in 1986, my business partner and I set up A & D Hair Studio located in the Empire Building on 13th & Sansom Streets. I eventually struck out on my own and started Admirations in 1989. In 1993, I returned to school and received my Teachers Certification in Cosmetology to help me continue to develop my skills and share my craft with others. Above all, I enjoy infusing my staff with the passion to make women look their best.

I love my job and I encourage my clients to care for their hair and focus on their overall appearance. I specialize in all natural ‘chemical free’ hair care, but I also do relaxers, weaves, braids, curls, hair color and dredlock maintenance. So if you are looking for someone to care for your hair, as well as your beauty concerns, I will be more than happy to work with you. My motto is, “If you've tried the rest, you now deserve the best.” Why? Because God's gift to me is my gift to you!

Cherrise Lett - Manager

Everyone has a story to tell about how they launched their career in hair styling and mine started when I was 12 years old. It all began with me giving myself a hair cut and it was at that very moment that I knew I had a passion for hair. From that point on, I was doing hair in right in my Mom's kitchen! At the age of 15, I got my first job working in a salon where I was an assistant for 3 years. My dear friend and mentor, the late Kia Hughes, had a great influence on me and my career and she encouraged me to get my formal stylist training. I finally became a licensed cosmetologist in 1993 and I started working at Admirations in October of that year.

 Over the years, I've grown into a professional, successful stylist under the teaching and guidance of Deborah Herder, who has been a great boss, big sister, friend and mentor. I enjoy styling, cutting coloring, and weaves. I do my best to satisfy my clients. Most of all, I enjoy the relationships that I have developed with everyone. My clients are like a second family to me; they really respect and trust me to maintain their hair and to help them keep it healthy and beautiful. 

Through the years, I believe that my faith, dedication and loyalty have lead to my success and I am so very grateful and blessed to have come so far!

Ericka Murchison - Stylist

I love being a hairstylist. I attended cosmetology school while attending high school, which allowed me to receive my license 18 years old. Working in the beauty and fashion industries has allowed me great opportunities. I have been nationally published in several hairstyling magazines such as Sophisticate Black Hairstyles, Hype Hair and more. I also have taken my skills to the runway, working on Philly Fashion Week, Atlantic City Fashion Week, and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

I am a multi-textured hairstylist specializing healthy hair care while providing relaxers, weaves, curls, hair color lock maintenance and chemical free hairstyling (press and curl). Styling hair is only part of my job. I believe that healthy hair should be a lifestyle. With years of salon experience, I am committed to first listening to your needs and desires for your style. As a professional I am committed to consistently providing you with excellent customer service. I take pride in offering you the most current updated looks, and I will personally give you the education you deserve on proper hair care.
